Fats Domino Tribute
FATS
DOMINO WAS A BIG MAN. THIS STAR OF "STARS IN THEIR EYES"
IS AS BIG AS THE GREAT STAR AND PERFORMS HIS MUSIC WITH GUSTO.
Born in New Orleans, Fats
Domino played in local clubs for many years before he was discovered
by band leader David Bartholomew and Lew Chudd of Imperial records.
His first release The Fat Man topped the R&B charts and marked
the beginning of a fruitful relationship between the band leader and
singer.
During the fifties Fats
became the most successful R&B artist in America, touring and
producing hits.
Between 1955 and 1960
Fats produced over 20 hit singles. In total he had over 60 records
in the charts, allegedly selling over seventy million records. He
continued his prolific career, outliving many of the recording studios
to which he was contracted. In 1991 EMI released the definitive boxed
set of his work.
Greg was a star
of ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ with his rendition of the hits I'm Walkin’ and Blueberry Hill. His performance assumed the
mantel of Fats, producing a tribute to the rock legend that has taken
him all over the world.
