Shirley Bassey Tribute
Maxine
is the UK's premier tribute to legendary singing icon Shirley
Bassey.
In October 1999, as the
very first winner of TV's 'Stars In Their Eyes', Maxine was invited
to appear in ‘Stars In Their Eyes Champion of Champions’,
to celebrate the 10th anniversary and to compete with nine other winners.
While the viewers voted the singing champ of the millennium to be
'Chris de Burgh', Westhoughton's own Shirley Bassey was proud to have
appeared and to acknowledge the show's part in her initial success.
She has met Prince Edward
and Tony Blair, appeared in ‘Hello’ magazine with Nick
Faldo, launched a new Jaguar car in Birmingham, appeared in a charity
show at Chatsworth House in front of the Duke of Devonshire, worked
alongside Jeffrey Archer, Ruby Wax, Jonathan Ross, Anthea Turner,
Russ Abbott and Hale and Pace, just to name a few.
