Lenny
Henry has risen from being a cult star on children's television to
being one of Britain's best known and loved personalities. He has
had a crucial influence on the creation of black-centred comedy, with
characters ranging from Delbert Wilkins, Theophilus P. Wildebeeste,
to the Guinness-supping Grandpa Deakus.
He has had sell out tours
of the UK and Australia and countless television shows of his own.
He has also appeared in a number of non-comedy drama shows, most notably
'Alive and Kicking' with Robbie Coltrane, which was awarded the Monaco
Red Cross as well The Golden Nymph Award at the Monte Carlo Television
Festival.
Lenny received the Radio
And Television Industry Club Award for BBC Personality Of The Year
for 1993.
