Belinda Carlisle
Belinda Carlisle is an American singer. She is the lead singer of groundbreaking female group The Go-Go’s who achieved major critical and commercial success in the 1980’s in addition to being a highly successful solo artist. She has to date achieved thirteen Platinum discs and five Gold discs across the globe, in addition to three Gold selling singles, her debut “Mad About You,” international smash “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” and nineties hit “In Too Deep,” which cemented her continuing chart success.
In addition to these Carlisle is also well known for her 1980’s U.K top 10 singles “I Get Weak,” “Circle in the Sand” and “Leave a Light On” as well as 90’s hits “(We Want) The Same Thing,” “Always Breaking My Heart,” and “Live Your Life Be Free.”
She has continued to find success in the 2000’s, appearing on the huge 2008/2009 Regeneration Tour in the U.S and the Here and Now tour in the U.K, appearing alongside fellow Eighties acts The Human League, Bananarama, Boy George and ABC. In October 2009 she took the role of Velma von Tussle in the London West End production of Hairspray and announced in 2010 that she is to release new material, an autobiography and tour for the final time with The Go Go’s.
