Bucks Fizz
Bucks Fizz is an English pop group, who formed in 1981 to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest. They won the competition with “Making You Mind Up” which remains their signature song. Following the contest they went on to international success, with record sales exceeding 15 million copies.
The band have achieved three U.K. No.1 singles, their debut “Making You Mind Up,” which sold 4 million copies worldwide, as well as “The Land of Make Believe” (their best selling U.K single) and “My Camera Never Lies.” In addition to this the band have released four top ten hits, “Now Those Days Are Gone,” “If You Can’t Stand the Heat,” “When We Were Young” and “New Beginning (Mamba Seyra)” and a further four Top20 hits, “Piece of the Action,” “One of Those Nights,” “Run for Your Life” and “Talking in Your Sleep.” They have also found success with continued album sales, with both their debut album Bucks Fizz and its follow up, 1982’s Are You Ready? being certified Gold in the U.K. The band’s third album “Hand Cut” received a silver certification, peaking at No.17 on the U.K. chart.
The band have found ongoing success in the 2000’s, with highlights including the release of two albums of unreleased material, The Lost Masters and The Lost Masters 2, the hugely successful Here and Now Tour with fellow Eighties acts Kim Wilde, Bananarama, ABC and Boy George and a highly successful 10 date U.K tour through 2009.
