Natalie Imbruglia
Natalie Imbruglia is an Australian singer-songwriter, model and actress. Since the beginning of her musical career in 1997 she has sold over 10 million albums and singles worldwide, winning two Brit awards and being nominated for three Grammys.
Imbruglia’s success was given an early kick start with her massive selling debut single “Torn.” The song reached No. 2 in both the U.K. and Australia and topped numerous worldwide charts including the U.S. Hot 100 Airplay chart. The song went on to be certified Platinum in the U.K. with sales in excess of 1 million, selling more than 3 million copies globally and becoming an iconic 90s hit. The strength of the single helped the singer’s debut album Left of the Middle become a huge success, reaching the Top10 on the U.K, U.S and Australian charts, going on to sell in excess of 6 million copies globally, in addition to earning the star 3 Grammy nominations including Best Pop Album.
Imbruglia has gone on to show continued chart success since this point. From Left In The Middle two more Top5 singles were released, “Big Mistake” and “Smoke.” Her second album White Lilies Island was certified Gold in both the U.K. and Australia, hit the Top40 in the U.S and contained the hit singles “Wrong Impression” and “That Day.” Third album, Counting Down The Days became a huge success, topping the U.K. charts and containing the Top10 hit “Shiver,” later becoming the third consecutive album in her career to earn at least a Gold certification in the U.K. 2007 saw the release of her first greatest hits package Glorious: The Singles, which reached the U.K. Top 5 and was again certified Gold.
Her career sees no sign of waning; in 2009 she released a successful new album “Come To Life,” featuring collaborations with Chris Martin of Coldplay.
