Flava

Flava are perhaps best known for reaching the semi-finals of ITV’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in 2008. They achieved national recognition and capitalized on this hard earned opportunity to do what they love, which is, to dance and perform. “The raw talent and the choreography are as good as anything I’ve seen in America. They are one of the best dance acts I’ve seen in this country. They are terrific.” Simon Cowell. Even before ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Flava won numerous competitions and represented England and the UK at the World Hip Hop Championships and the Dance Excellence Awards in Los Angeles.

Since their prime time television exposure on ‘BGT’, the team have grown in strength and ability with renewed dedication and direction. “We are looking to tour schools in the UK not just to promote Flava, but to show the kids that if they put their mind to something they can achieve so much. We work hard, but it’s a lot of fun and we really enjoy what we do. Hopefully we’ll inspire other kids to want to do the same.” Kyle Richardson - Founder.

The team have recorded a music video for the dance group Phats & Small, they have appeared on TV shows such as ‘Toonatiks’, GMTV and ‘Jump Nation’, and have been asked to perform two pieces for the Body shop world conferences based around current events. In addition they have performed at high profile events such as Stella McCartney’s fashion show, the graduation ceremony for Jamie Oliver’s recruits at the Eden project, PPL at Cafe de Paris in December and the Centre of Social Justice awards. Their achievements have been recognised with an honorary award for their current and on going work within the hoodie culture. The team continue to work with as many charities as possible and one such current success is in working with children with disabilities in Cornwall which has generated such amazing feedback that the team are expanding their work within this area.

October sees Flava attending a ‘Diversity convention held at Police head quarters for members of the constabulary where they will be running workshops at the event showcasing their work with young people. In the near future a first Flava track will be available for download and in conjunction with some major events the coming few months will be stuffed full of FLAVA!
