Mike, This is a belated letter to say a big ‘Thank
You’ for bringing us such a great concert on 4th July.
The performers were almost better than the artists they
were paying tribute to and the result was a slick and thoroughly
professional show. As you know a tribute band concert at
Goodwood Racecourse was something new for us and I can only
say that Mamma Mia proved a really terrific opening to this
year’s Chichester Festivities. I am enclosing a press
review from the Chichester Observer which really says it
all. Basically, it went down a storm! I would like to say
a special thank you also to Martin Spooner who did a fantastic
job with the sound. Prior to the event we had highlighted
the difficulties of amplification at this venue where we
have often had difficulties in the past. I can honestly
say that none of these manifested themselves thanks to Martin’s

forthcoming shows and I very much hope we can meet soon

Mia! Music and Fireworks Concert, Goodwood Racecourse...“
You’ve got to hand it to those tribute bands, they
certainly get the party started. Right from the off - before
some of us had even laid out our picnics- whole families
were up dancing to a batch of catchy 70s hits. And there
was no time to fret over peaking too early. With no Red
Arrows display this year, and no carnival parade, there
was nothing for it but to hit the dance floor- and stay
there all night. The organisers knew just what would work
with this good-time crowd, and they were right. His hair
may not have been big or golden enough to properly pull
off a Barry Gibb, but the lead singer of Bee Gees Magic
somehow had everyone screaming and doing their best John
Travolta impressions for Night Fever. There was near hysteria
by the time Rock Around Grease appeared, with grannies and
teenagers alike imaging themselves Danny and Sandy. And
headline act Abba Magic were given a huge reception for
their medley of hits from Jive Talkin’ to Dancing
Queen, even if ‘Bjorn’ looked like a cross between
Elton John and Ozzy Osbourne. All the bands played with
the right amount of professionalism and playing-it-for-laughs,
but the real stars of the night were still to come. My Mamma
Mia's were more for the absolutely awe-inspiring fireworks
in the sky over Goodwood than for anything that had gone
on on stage”

know that I really enjoyed the “Mamma Mia!”
show when it cam to the open-air concert at Cannizaro Park
in Wimbledon last Sunday night. I have seen the “Mamma
Mia!” show before, when it played at the Fairfield
Halls in Croydon last November- a brilliant show. Above
all, I just want to say how very impressed I was with ABBA
Magic and Bee gees Magic - they were absolutely great acts.
I have been a truly devoted fan for 15 solid years and I
am also a Bees Gees fan as well, so the songs and the costumes
were excellent, and the main thing is that your two bands
make everyone enjoy themselves. I have seen numerous ABBA
tribute bands in recent years, but I must rank ABBA Magic
up there at the top. I just love the way that Emma and Anna
deliver the great ABBA songs with their gorgeous smiles,
and the rest of the musicians and dancers who have worked
hard to make us happy- Keep up the good work!!!! Finally,
I just want to let you know that I will hopefully be seeing
the “Mamma Mia!” show again when it comes to

words are seriously inadequate as a way to express thanks,
but even more inappropriate would have been not to write.
The entertainment you arranged for us was absolutely sensational,
not simply from the music content point of view, which perhaps
one could be forgiven for taking for granted, but the individuals
involved for their genuine warmth, enthusiasm and attitude.
Nothing was too much trouble for them and this made a real
