Lost In Music - Review - Adelphi Theatre

, 2023, BY ELISABETH BEER

The energy brought to the stage took it to the next level. Pair that with the fun costume changes and the disco ball changes truly like the advertised ‘one night at the disco’. When I would looked around everyone was on their feet smiling and really enjoying themselves. I saw some parents with young disco enthusiasts as well as loads of adults on a great night out.

Loud it certainly was, energetic it certainly was, hugely enjoyable it certainly was for the whole audience, many of whom, like me, could not have remembered the 1970s. As I was exiting after the show I overheard one younger member of the audience say “it was fantastic – one of the best night’s out I’ve had in a long time”, a feeling echoed, I am sure, by many other people.

Lost in Music - One Night at the Disco (UK tour)

With disco’s influence on modern dance and pop artists and repeated resurgences in the decades since it’s fall from prominence, Lost in Music have done what’s only natural, in paying tribute to both the music and the associated nostalgia. As part of their ongoing tour, this troupe of performers, created by Entertainers, brought One Night at the Disco to London’s Adelphi Theatre, and had the crowd in the palm of their hands. Fronted by a quintet of talented singers, there’s a lot to like about this show and the troupe behind it.

Lost In Music - Review - Adelphi Theatre

Lost in Music: one night at the Disco is a joyful celebration of this genre – with the audience on their feet from the opening song until the very end of the show (be prepared to dance). The show is more a celebration than a tribute, because all the singers and the band members, under the direction of Tony Wood, are hugely talented.
